Welsch Homebrew Supply is a co-op dedicated to gathering the best quality brewing ingredients for the local brewer. The premise is simple, cobble together bulk orders of imported and domestic malts, malt syrups, specialty grains, hops, and chemicals; drive down costs by slashing markups and lowering shipping costs. We don't have the expense of a retail storefront which keeps costs low but limits the suppliers that will work with us. This means we don't carry brewing equipment and that again helps drive costs down.
Ordering in bulk - what does this mean? We purchase in volumes that take advantage of shipping efficiencies that lower transportation costs. A 500# shipment is one half the cost per pound of the nearest mail order shop. That means the finest imported and domestic malts for less per pound than found elsewhere. Couple that with easy pre-arranged local pick up and your brew day is off to a low cost relaxed start.
